Chyba v IE, opravovat bude Firefox a kdo za to vlastně může?
Minulý týden Thor Larholm oznámil na svém blogu chybu v Internet Exploreru, která dovolí spouštět příkazy na vzdáleném počítači. K tomu je ale zapotřebí, aby na tom počítači byl nainstalován také prohlížeč Firefox. Ten při instalaci registruje handler firefoxURL. Následně, pokud IE najde referenci firefoxurl://, předá ji registrovanému handleru bez jakýchkoliv validací. Tím lze spustit Firefox například s argumentem -chrome a podstrčit vlastní JavaScript kód.
Od Microsoftu celkem logicky řekli, že to není jejich problém. Za tím je úplně cítit to nedopovězené „odinstalujte si Firefox a máte po problémech“. Z Mozilly slíbili, že to do příští verzi opraví. Nevyjádřili se konkrétně, zda je chyba u nich nebo u Microsoftu, ale upozornili na to, že pokud to Microsoft tak nechá, zůstává potenciální hrozba i pro jiné programy.
Těžko říct, kde je přesně chyba. Nejspíš částečně i na obou stranách. Bohužel, jen jedna z nich hodlá s tím něco dělat.

Dokonce je legální ho použít, pokud máte platnou licenci na windows 98, což např. můj bazarový notebook má.

taky jsem mel licenci na windows(verze xtreme problematic) ted je v nekde na skladce i s tim laptopem ke kteremu byla, neprezil asi 10. pokus o paralelni instalaci wirdows a linuxu, ted mam laptop bez wirdowsu jenom s linuxem a jeste sem ho ani jednou nevyhodil z okna :)
